Jill Wayne, M.A., CCC-A, AuD
Jill Wayne is an ASHA certified audiologist and has worked at CHSL since 1979, holding her current title of Executive Director since 1993.
Jill has a Master's degree in Audiology at California State University, Northridge and an AuD (clinical audiology doctorate) from Central Michigan University. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, a member of ASHA, and a member of the Colorado Academy of Audiology. She is a member and past president of the National Association of Speech and Hearing Centers and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Dawson Wallace Dance Project.
Jill is married to husband Tim, has twin stepdaughters and “hooligan” kitties—Mama Kat and Oogie.
Betty Sweetman, M.A., CCC-A, Director of Audiology
Betty Sweetman received her master's degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and a member of the Colorado Academy of Audiology. Prior to joining the CHSL staff in 2003, Betty spent four years as clinical audiologist for Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital. There she administered diagnostic audiology, fit and repaired hearing aids, and directed the infant hearing screening program at the largest birthing hospital in Colorado, which screened some 4,500 babies per year. Betty was VP of Education for the Colorado Academy of Audiology for two consecutive years.
Betty is married to Richard Sweetman, Professor Emeritus of Audiology at the University of Colorado, Boulder. They have four children and five grandchildren.
Brenda Ratkiewicz, M.A. CCC-A, Audiologist
Brenda Ratkiewicz is a native of Colorado and received her Bachelors degree and Master's degree in Audiology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. After obtaining her degree she worked in private practice with several Otolaryngologists. In this practice she performed special tests, administered diagnostic Audiology, and the fitting and repair of hearing aids.
Brenda has been an active volunteer for the 9 News Health Fair for the past three years in helping to screen and refer if necessary many participants of the health fair. She has maintained her membership with the American Speech-Language Hearing association since 1986.
Brenda is married to husband Mike and has two teenage children, two dogs and one very old cat.
Lee Ann Lizzul, M.S., CCC-A, Colorado Springs Director
Lee Ann Lizzul is a Phi Betta Kappa graduate of Colorado State University holding a Masters of Science degree in Audiology. She earned the Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 1985 after successfully completing the Master's Program, a 9-month internship and passing the national certification examination. Lee Ann is a licensed audiologist in the state of Colorado, certified by ASHA, and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She has been the full-time audiologist in the Colorado Springs office since 1985 and is a member of the Rocky Mountain Sertoma, Colorado Springs.
